On Saturday 9th February Marconi Gallery,
Design?Associated Study and Marche Centro d'Arte present Vigiliae
Litoris sole exposition by Karin Andersen. Opening at 6 p.m.at
Design? Associated Study, 36 D'annunzio St., San Benedetto del Tronto. The event
is cured by Rebecca Delmenico, author of the critical text too.
Vigiliae Litoris
is part of
the events that are complemented by Contemporary art Expo of
Marche Centro d'Arte.
The exposition will
be partly achieved within the rooms of Design? Associated Study and on
Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th February is it possible
to see Karin Andersen making a site specific performance of live
painting from 9 to 1 a.m and from 2 to 6 p.m.
"Marcony Gallery and
Design? Associated Study accomodate a new project of the german artist Karin
Andersen. Known to the public for her animal-headed figures moving in
environments transmuted, in this occasion the artist will pay tribute to the
Adriatic Sea with a big painting that will portay it in all its astranging and
mystic winter torpor.
The work will be carried out directly in the
exhibition space in the days before the inauguration and it will be a
monumental portrait of a team of unusual guardians, especially lifeguards
mutants, who oversee the bank regardless of the storm that assails them. Karin
Andersen tries to stimulate a broad reflection on climate change and its dire
consequences through this ironic and suggestive fresco . "

Marconi Gallery arrives in San Benedetto del
Tronto thanks to its cooperation with Design? Associated Study and it
sets up a new contemporary
art space that joins the historic of Cupra Marittima. At the base of the second
year of collaboration there is always the idea of spreading the region's
passion for art and design, two worlds that often touch and play dialogue.
Marconi Gallery is so continuing
the process of artistic promotion outside of its environment, experiencing
places other than the canons of art. Design? Associated Study aims to overcome
the limitations of an architectural firm to become a promoter of culture and
offer new perspectives to those who attend its spaces.
Sharing the same critical
research, applied to the visual arts, architecture and design, this
collaboration wants to kick off a new course of study and experimentation
through the analysis and processing of the reality that surrounds us.
"Every new exhibition season
is like a new beginning, a re-think what we have done to continue to grow on the
roots, hopefully solid, that have been put. Arrived at 18 years (but the
maturity is still far ahead) I want to thank those who, even if only for a
moment, a smile or a chat, have approached the work of the Gallery. I continue
to work for art, despite all the difficulties, because I still hope that it can
save us. A hug "(Franco Marconi)
