Geir
Munthe-Kaas è nato nel 1959 e dirige dal
2004 il Coro ”Blandakoret Frøysang”. Ha
studiato presso il Conservatorio di
MusicaRogaland, presso la città di Stavanger.
Inizia la sua carriera di direttore di coro
nel 1979, mentre comincia la carriera di
organista dal 1981. Geir Munthe-Kaas si
caratterizza per la sua versatilità,
creatività e per il suo entusiasmo. Per
questo, nel 2015 è stato insignito dalla
”Norges Korforbund”, la più rinomata
associazione corale della Norvegia, di un
prestigioso premio.
The Choir ”Blandakoret Frøysang” was founded
25 years ago in a small village called
Kverneland located on the west coast of
Norway, just outside the city of Savanger.
The first years a small local choir, but the
chorus grew quite rapidly. Today we have
over 60 active members aged 20 to over 70,
who comes from several municipalites in the
area. We are a very well-knit group of
people, which has experienced much fun
together, both musically and socially. In
the beginning we sang mainly local and
Norwegian stuff, but over the years the
choir has been through many different music
genres, ranging from church music, pop with
different themes, musicals and operettas,
traditional music from Norway and several
other countries.
Geir Munthe-Kaas, born 1959, has been
conductor of ”Blandakoret Frøysang” since
2004. He studied at Rogaland Conservatory of
Music, Stavanger. His career as a conductor
started in 1979 and he has also been an
organist since 1981. Geir Munthe-Kaas is a
highly versatile conductor, creative and
enthusiastic and won the price "most
enthusiastic conductor" in 2015 awarded by
”Norges Korforbund”, the largest
organisation for choirs in Norway.
